A few days ago the widely-used SDL library added support for the new Steam Controller without depending upon the Steam client. Now another improvement for the new Steam Controller has been merged to this widely-used library for cross-platform games/apps with software/hardware abstractions. Overnight the Steam Controller (2026) mapping was merged to the Simple DirectMedia Layer so that all buttons are now properly mapped for the controller. This pull request opened on Friday and now merged to Git works through the Steam Controller mapping with the differences compared to the original Steam Controller. It's now in Git with continuing to improve the Steam Controller support for this important open-source library.
