State Highway 1 closed north of Auckland after serious crash

State Highway 1 north of Auckland is closed in both directions, following a serious crash in the Dome Valley area.Police were alerted to the crash, near River Road, at 2pm on Friday afternoon.Initial indications were that there were critical injuries.A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency said three fire trucks were at the scene.Hato Hone St John said two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were also there.NZTA said diversions were in place at State Highway 16 and Woodcocks Road.Drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.The Serious Crash Unit has also been informed of the incident.
