Speaking at recent investor conferences, Gilead Sciences’ top executives have been emphatically bullish about the biotech’s years-long push to develop drugs for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. “It’s one of the three scientific areas that are our core focus,” Gilead Chief Financial Officer Andy Dickinson told investors at the Cantor Global Healthcare Conference earlier this month. “We’re the largest virology company.
