Sign in to your TheGamer account We’ve all been waiting for a new game from Bethesda for quite a while now, and Microsoft's recent round of layoffs is undoubtedly going to make things take longer. Despite that, we’ve had reports that Obsidian is now on a Fallout game, while Bethesda is hard at work on The Elder Scrolls 6. All of these claims were from reports though, with no official information having been given until earlier today, after Bethesda explained what its future is going to look like in terms of output. As has been stated before, Bethesda is primarily focused on The Elder Scrolls 6, but it did officially confirm that Obsidian is working on Fallout. It also confirmed that remasters of Fallout 3 and New Vegas are in the works too. Starfield Isn't Completely Dead After All Bethesda However, despite all the talk about Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, Bethesda also mentioned Starfield, a game which many had probably considered dead after all of Microsoft’s tinkering and shuffling within the company. Thankfully, for those still playing, Starfield isn’t dead after all, as Bethesda used this opportunity to explain that it still considers its big space RPG “important” to the company’s future. “With over 17 million players logging almost a billion hours to date, Starfield remains an important part of our future,” says Bethesda. “As we enter Year 3, we'll continue expanding the Settled Systems with new stories, targeted gameplay improvements, and additional updates, while preparing for the launch of new Starborn content next year.” What this extra content will look like, we’ll have to wait and see, but I struggle to imagine we’ll be getting another full-blown expansion like Shattered Space. That being said, it’s nice to see the game is still being supported despite Xbox’s insistence to get Bethesda’s biggest titles out of the door more frequently.
