Star Wars Zero Company team teases DLC as it rehires staff

| Games News Reporter Published October 8, 2026 10:11am Updated October 8, 2026 10:11am Zero Company is estimated to have sold over a million copies but EA’s yet to share official sales figures (EA) The developer behind Star Wars Zero Company has shared good news about the future of the game, promising ‘continued support.’ In a busy year of great games Star Wars Zero Company still stands out as one of the best. That’s why it was incredibly disappointing to hear that developer Bit Reactor was in dire straits even before launch. Having run out of money ahead of the game’s launch, Bit Reactor had to place around 80% of the team on unpaid leave, although the studio expressed hope it would eventually bring everyone back. Although there’s still no official sales figures from Bit Reactor or publisher EA, signs continue to suggest Zero Company has performed well, as team members have begun returning to Bit Reactor and for the first time the studio has teased ‘continued support’ for the game. For as much as we enjoy Zero Company, it is not without its fair share of bugs, and you can find no shortage of fans across Reddit and Steam forums complaining about issues they’ve faced. That’s hardly surprising now that it’s known the game only had a skeleton crew working on it in its final weeks, but hopefully these problems will start being addressed sooner rather than later. CEO Greg Foertsch has said that they’ll be sharing ‘more updates regarding Bit Reactor and Zero Company soon,’ which suggests at least some sizeable patches. Hopefully, this also includes DLC of some kind, be it new side missions, new recruitable characters, or new story content. We’ve also seen plenty of interest online for an endless mode where you can continue playing through missions even after the credits roll, since the New Game+ mode only lets you carry over cosmetics. By all accounts, Zero Company has sold very well, for a turn-based strategy game. According to estimates by Alinea Analytics, it sold at least one million copies and made roughly $50 million (about £38 million) within its first month on sale. It was also one of the top selling PC games of August despite releasing at the tail end of the month. It even made more money that month than plenty of long running live service games. As for the returning employees, Foertsch only says that Bit Reactor has ‘started the process’ of bringing people back and there’s sadly no guarantee everyone will be reinstated. According to Game File, the number of paid employees at Bit Reactor is now more than half of what it had originally been and while no specific numbers are given, it’s said there remains a ‘fair number’ of employees still on unpaid leave.
