That said, it did have plenty of redeeming features, and it's a big part of the franchise as a whole by mere fact of its existence, so it would be a shame if it were to be left behind entirely. What exactly that would look like moving forward is unclear, but additional stories set during that period would actually help to flesh out what feels like the thinnest offering we've had from a narrative perspective. While we wait to see if Disney plans to tend to that bit of the timeline further, there is another release coming along that draws on the last three films, and it's in an entirely different medium. Atomic Mass Games In case you haven't come across it before, Star Wars: Shatterpoint is a tabletop skirmish miniatures game created by Atomic Mass Games where two players build strike teams of iconic characters from the franchise, before battling to complete dynamic mission objectives. The miniatures are highly detailed, and it's easily the best offering of its type that's attached to the IP. As part of tabletop convention Adepticon 2026, the manufacturer confirmed the release of a whole raft of new figures for the game, many of which draw on the roster of characters from the sequel trilogy. The headline release is the Alone With Friends Pack, which brings new figures for Rey, Han Solo, Chewy and Finn (as well as an appearance from BB8 on Rey's stand). The We Are The Spark Squad Pack brings Poe Dameron and his compatriots to the fore, while on the Dark Side of proceedings, there is plenty more where that came from. The I Will Finish What You Started Pack includes several of the First Order's most nefarious members, and the On My Command Squad Pack is the best way to get more Stormtroopers into your ranks. The developer also promised some additional rebalancing to address the most pressing player concerns, and the game looks like its going to be in a great state for some time to come yet. Add to that the Ryan Gosling-fronted Starfighter and there's every chance we could be about to have a good couple of years as fans.
