Star Wars Jedi 3 Gets Exciting Release Window Update

Published Oct 31, 2026, 2:00 PM EDT Ben Brosofsky has been writing for Screen Rant since 2022 and editing since 2024. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's in Cinema & Media Arts. Writing serves as a much-needed distraction from tackling a backlog of Steam games that will never be surmounted. Its existence has been acknowledged by Cal Kestis's voice actor, confirmed via various sources in reporting, and mentioned in a recent internal EA memo. Without so much as a teaser, however, it's been hard to guess how long the wait will be. As it turns out, it might not take as long for Star Wars Jedi 3 to release as fans had feared. While some Star Wars games that were announced years ago still seem to have a long road ahead of them before launch, it sounds like development on Star Wars Jedi 3 has progressed much faster. In response to a question on Bluesky, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier claimed that "Jedi 3 is far in development," in contrast to the pre-development state of Star Wars Battlefront 3. While Schreier doesn't offer any further specifics, the update suggests that a proper reveal of the game — and its eventual release window — might not be too far away. The recent internal EA memo mentions Star Wars Jedi 3 and Marvel's Iron Man as "simultaneous, large-scale projects," but doesn't indicate which one is expected to arrive first. Regardless, EA expects both to be "huge launches." Unlike Star Wars Jedi 3, Marvel's Iron Man was officially revealed years ago, but fans still have no footage of the game or word on a release window. For reference, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order released in 2019, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor followed in 2023. A similar release cycle could see Star Wars Jedi 3 land in 2027, which would likely make it the next Star Wars game on the horizon. Even if it doesn't make that window, a 2028 release would still bring it to market before the expected arrival of some other games in development, like Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. In the meantime, fans were treated to the most fruitful year of Star Wars gaming in a long time. Star Wars Zero Company brought the tactical expertise of former XCOM developers to a galaxy far, far away, and the Burnout veterans working on Star Wars: Galactic Racer did the same for the racing genre. Both games are more contained in scale than massive projects like Fate of the Old Republic, and they seemingly avoided the troubled development cycles of titles like Quantic Dream's Star Wars Eclipse and the Knights of the Old Republic remake. Following EA's acquisition by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Firm and private equity owned by Jared Kushner, the studio's future isn't exactly looking bright, and the internal memo established its intent to avoid developing multiple single-player adventures at the same time in the future. There's no telling if a Star Wars Jedi 4 will ever come, but at least we know the third game is moving along. Hopefully, fans will get an official look at Star Wars Jedi 3 sometime soon.
