If you haven’t, but you’re tempted, there’s a way you can play most of what Galactic Racer has to offer without shelling out for your own copy of the game. That’s because Galactic Racer has been added to Amazon Luna. Luna is Amazon’s cloud gaming service that lets subscribers stream games through a Fire Stick or a compatible device. It has a library of games to choose from and, best of all, you don’t need to be subscribed to Luna - you just need to be subscribed to Amazon Prime. If you have an active Prime subscription, which tens of millions of people do, you have access to Luna, which I’m assuming most of you aren’t using. Well, now is the time to make the most of it, as the service just got a huge day-one release in Galactic Racer. Before you message your Star Wars-loving friends and tell them to get Luna so you can hop online and play together, know that the free Luna version of Galactic Racer is more limited than the full release. It only includes the game’s single-player campaign. That means no competing online, nor completing its scenarios or setting times in arcade mode. The Campaign Alone Is Well Worth It That is certainly not something you should be turning your nose up at, though. Galactic Racer’s runs-based campaign is one of the best I’ve ever experienced in a racing game. It’s where I spent roughly 80% of my time reviewing the game since multiplayer sessions were limited to specific windows, and it kept me engaged for hours as the story unfolded and I perfected my builds across all three of my vehicles. The other thing you will need to check to make sure you have an optimal experience playing Galactic Racer on Luna is your internet connection. Even though the Luna version’s content is single-player only, since the platform is cloud-based, if you have a bad internet connection, then this game is going to look worse than most. You’re racing at breakneck speeds, and if your internet connection struggles to keep up, not only will the game look awful, but it won’t respond quickly enough as you try to take a sharp turn at 800 mph. Luna isn’t exactly the go-to platform when it comes to where people play their games. That’s what makes Galactic Racer such a huge get. Especially when hearing the news will make Prime subscribers aware that they can play through the game’s campaign for free since they almost certainly have at least one Luna-compatible device. If they love it enough, not only might they buy a copy for its other modes, but they might use Luna more often after seeing what else it has to offer.
