Sign in to your ScreenRant account Star Wars fans have been remarkably well serviced over the years in the video game department, with some genuinely brilliant releases that stand up in their own right, even without being connected to one of the world's biggest IPs. Your favorite will depend on which genre you prefer and what you grew up playing, but for most, it's that feeling of picking up a lightsaber and slicing through hordes of enemies. Happily, there are plenty of options out there if that's what you are looking for, most recently the Star Wars Jedi games, which are set to get a concluding third part at some point over the next year or two. Before that, though, it was another game that totally set the standard for years to come, and one player has it looking better than it ever did over time. Over on YouTube, the user Gamer King shared a video in which they showcased Star Wars: The Force Unleashed running in 4K resolution at 60 FPS. If you played The Force Unleashed at the time of its release, you will likely remember just how much power it gave the player as a fledgling force user, and that power trip is still yet to be matched by any other game tied to the franchise. As brilliant as it was back in 2008, that was almost two decades ago, and the relentless passage of time makes fools of us all. The visuals are usually a long way back from what modern players expect, as are the frame rates, but not so in this latest showcase on YouTube. The game does look great, but it's worth noting that the video seemingly suggests that the game is running on PS5. Though The Force Unleashed is available to stream via PS Plus Premium, that's only in the original resolution and with the original frame rate. What's likely happening here is that the game is being run via an emulator, with several modded components to improve performance and visual fidelity. If you're yet to play Star Wars: The Force Unleashed yet, PC emulation probably is the preferable way to do it in 2026, particularly if you find low frame rates and cloud streaming jarring. Just make sure you have an original copy of the game to keep everything above board from a legal perspective, or wait for the remaster/remake treatment that so many beloved games seem to be getting right now.
