The Next Generation Is Officially Returning This Year Star Trek: The Next Generation will be a key feature in the upcoming Magic: The Gathering x Star Trek Universes Beyond release, which arrives later this year. Although the massive crossover draws from 60 years of Star Trek, Wizards of the Coast has created several cards and products specifically designed around Jean-Luc Picard and his era of the franchise. The biggest is Federation Fleet, one of four pre-constructed Commander decks included in the release. Wizards specifically describes it as the deck for The Next Generation fans, putting Picard at the helm of a crew that can strengthen its members and charge powerful Starships. TNG is also getting the Enterprise-Q Scene Box, featuring the Enterprise crew encountering Picard's longtime adversary Q. The box contains six foil Borderless Scene cards that combine to form a larger piece of artwork, alongside three Play Boosters. The TNG party rages on across the wider set as well, with Picard, Geordi La Forge, and Data among seven characters getting extremely limited signed Headliner chase cards, with only around 250 copies of each, while LCARS-inspired card treatments draw directly from the computer interface made famous in The Next Generation. MTG: Universes Beyond Celebrates Star Trek's 60th In November Magic: The Gathering x Star Trek will officially arrive on November 13, 2026, bringing six decades of Star Trek television and movies together for one of the franchise's biggest 60th-anniversary crossovers (via WPN). Wizards of the Coast describes the Universes Beyond set as spanning iconic ships, heroes, and adversaries from throughout Star Trek history, allowing players to build decks around familiar characters while exploring the property through classic Magic rules. Fans will actually be able to start playing slightly earlier, with Prerelease events running from November 6–12. From there, Wizards is planning an entire Star Trek-themed season lasting into January 2027. The centerpiece is Magic Presents: To Boldly Go, a season-long Sealed league running from November 13 through January 28. Players begin with six Play Boosters before expanding their card pools, traveling through Starfleet Academy and the galaxy's four quadrants while advancing through Starfleet ranks. Reaching Captain even earns players a special Solemn Simulacrum promo card. The celebration also includes Commander Parties, Two-Headed Giant Commander Nights, weekly Standard Showdowns, Friday Night Magic events, and beginner-focused Magic Academy sessions.
