Strange New Worlds is one of the more recent spinoffs to debut on Paramount+, along with Starfleet Academy. These two are the only two Star Trek series still around, though both will be coming to an end in 2027. Created by Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is a prequel to The Original Series from the 1960s and centers on Captain Pike and his fellow crew members, including Spock, Uhura, Number One and Scotty, on board the iconic starship Enterprise. The recent Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 finale helped to lay the groundwork for the upcoming final season. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Can't Be Stopped On Paramount+ Five days after that finale was released, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is still performing strongly on the streaming charts. As of September 29, 2026, the series is No. 7 on Paramount+'s Top 10 overall chart on Amazon Channels, behind MobLand, Lioness, The Get Out, Big Brother, Jackass: Best and Last and Route 187. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 are Along Came a Spider, South Park and Survivor. Strange New Worlds has been in the Top 10 for 63 days, a streak that began just five days after the fourth season premiered. It's performing the best in Germany (No. 2), Australia (No. 3), France (No. 3), Italy (No. 3), Canada (No. 5), the United Kingdom (No. 5) and the United States (No. 7). What's The Latest On The Show's Future? This continued streaming success comes at the perfect time. Back in June 2025, Paramount+ announced that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was being renewed for one final six-episode season that would properly wrap up the existing storylines of the crew's five-year mission and bring the fan-favorite characters closer and closer to the events of Star Trek: The Original Series, which depicts James Kirk as the captain of the Enterprise. On Strange New Worlds, the character has spent much of the series as lieutenant and first officer of the USS Farragut, but the recent finale catapulted his career to new heights. Not much has been revealed about the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 5, but filming took place in 2025. Thomas Jane and Kai Murakami have been cast as Bones and Sulu, characters first seen on The Original Series. They're joining a large ensemble that already includes Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, Rebecca Romijn, Paul Wesley, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, Martin Quinn, Jess Bush and Christina Chong.
