Originally introduced in The Original Series, the alternate reality became a recurring feature of Deep Space Nine, where its storylines proved equal parts entertaining and divisive. While some viewers loved seeing familiar characters embrace their darker sides, others felt the outrageous story arcs strayed too far from what made Star Trek special. That said, I was a fan of this bleaker take on Star Trek's universe, and if I had to pick a favorite alternate-reality character, it'd have to be Evil Worf, the Mirror Universe counterpart for Michael Dorn's beloved Klingon warrior. Known as Regent Worf, the ruthless villain ruled the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance and gave us a wildly different interpretation of one of Star Trek's most honor-bound and noble characters. Now, more than 25 years after Deep Space Nine ended, Evil Worf is officially returning in an exciting new Star Trek crossover on November 13. Star Trek's Mirror Universe is officially returning in the franchise's upcoming Magic: The Gathering crossover, including one of the most memorable villains from Deep Space Nine. "Evil Worf" has his own card in the new Stardates set, "Worf, Regent of Terok Nor," a new collectible card based on the existing MTG card "Mogis, God of Slaughter." It's technically a Deep Space Nine crossover, bringing back Michael Dorn's evil counterpart who ruled the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance in episodes like "Shattered Mirror" and "The Emperor's New Cloak." The card itself is a powerful black-and-red legendary creature with 7/5 power and toughness, the Indestructible ability, and an effect that forces opponents to either sacrifice a creature or take two damage during their upkeep. It's a fitting interpretation of the ruthless Regent. Evil Worf isn't the only Mirror Universe character getting the Magic treatment, and fans of the alt-reality chapter are in luck. Other notable characters include "Intendant Kira Nerys," based on "Drivnod, Carnage Dominus," "Spock, Mirror Malefactor," based on "Prosper, Tome-Bound," and "Empress Sato, Terran Tyrant," based on the iconic "Empress Galina." There's even a sinister version of Picard called "General Picard, Earth Warlord." These cards belong to the 30-card Stardates collection, a special series of borderless reprints featuring familiar Star Trek characters. They're available through Play Boosters and Collector Boosters, with traditional foil versions exclusive to Collector Boosters. Separately, the larger Star Trek crossover includes four pre-constructed Commander decks: Federation Fleet Landing Party Klingon Fury We Are the Borg Each contains 100 playable cards, with standard and premium Collector's Edition versions available. Evil Worf isn't included in a preconstructed deck, although he could be added to a customized Klingon Fury deck. The complete Magic: The Gathering x Star Trek tabletop crossover officially releases on November 13, 2026, with MTG Arena receiving the set on November 10. Unfortunately, Wizards of the Coast has also confirmed some production and shipping delays. According to its November 5 update, Commander decks in North America may arrive after the official release date, while certain bundles and other products are facing delays as well. Thankfully, Play Boosters and Prerelease Packs remain on schedule, meaning fans eager to collect Star Trek's Evil Worf should still have opportunities to obtain him when the crossover officially launches.
