Star Trek's 60th anniversary has been one for the record books so far, with dozens of exciting announcements for fans of every major era in the franchise. The year has delivered everything from new television adventures to ambitious games and unexpected crossovers, ensuring there is plenty to celebrate 60 incredible years of boldly going where nobody has gone before. For starters, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has continued the Enterprise crew's adventures, while the gaming side of the franchise has been especially busy. Bloober Team unveiled Star Trek: Shadow Frontier, a darker psychological thriller starring Michelle Forbes as Ro Laren, while fans can also look forward to the massive Magic: The Gathering x Star Trek crossover arriving in November. Further, Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is expanding with its newly announced Q Trials mode. Together, the announcements have made Star Trek's 60th feel like a genuine franchise-wide celebration, but no release is doing it quite as big as the upcoming Rediscovered season in Star Trek Online, which will take players across nearly every major era in Star Trek history. Star Trek Online: Rediscovered is shaping up to be one of the game's most ambitious celebrations of Star Trek history, appropriately arriving during the franchise's 60th anniversary. Launching September 22 on PC and November 10 on PlayStation and XBOX, Season 37 continues the remastering of STO's early “Ultimate Klingon” storyline with a new version of "The City on the Edge of Never." Players will travel across different points in history as they search for the missing Miral Paris and Ambassador B'vat. The biggest hook is undoubtedly "Spock Through the Ages," however, with Ethan Peck joining the game as the Strange New Worlds Lieutenant Spock as Piotr Michael voices Captain Spock from the Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country era, and archival dialogue from Leonard Nimoy brings the original Commander Spock back into the story. Rediscovered also introduces the "Know Thy Enemy" space TFO, a season-long event, a gifting feature, and the 60th Anniversary Starship Icons Prize Pack, whose grand prize is the Strange New Worlds Constitution-class Enterprise. The Movie Stills Database More importantly, Rediscovered is really the beginning of a much larger roadmap stretching through February 2027, and it touches upon nearly every major era of Star Trek. Voyager is coming back with an upcoming Vidiian starship, while The Next Generation contributes the Tarellian Plague Ship. Enterprise gets a Terran NX-class ship, Deep Space Nine is back with an upcoming Dominion War-themed starship bundle, and Prodigy returns in January with a Vau N'Akat vessel. Further, The Kelvin Timeline is also part of the celebration through the Narada, while further updates include Legendary Veteran Heavy Destroyers, new Deep Space Encounter content, experimental graphical upgrades, and additional TFO events. The roadmap ultimately culminates with Star Trek Online's 17th anniversary in February 2027, bringing another season, new Deep Space content, a new TFO feature, and the game's first Tier 7 Reputation. Needless to say, the next few months are absolutely packed for Star Trek Online players, and fans are going to have their hands full with new content.
