Photo by Robert Marquardt/Getty ImagesBy Brian Linder | blinder@pennlive.comBruce Campbell has plenty of fans, and they received bad news from him heading into the weekend when he opened up about his battle against cancer.The “Evil Dead” star was diagnosed with a treatable but incurable form of cancer back in March, and in an appearance on “The Adam Carolla Show,” he shared more about what that means. “With the type of cancer that I have, which I don’t want to get into, the current thing is a five-year deal,” he told Carolla. “I’ve decided pretty specifically to live with it, not die from it.“You can go down a massive rabbit hole,” he added. “The cancer rabbit hole is enormous. You can go into focus groups of 10,000 guys who have exactly what you have. I won’t touch it with a 10-foot pole.”Campbell has been promoting a new movie, “Ernie & Emma,” while he battles the disease.“When I promote this movie, I have nothing,” he told Carolla. “I’m free and clear when I promote this movie. You have to make this decision of, ‘Oh okay, but do I have to stop everything I’m doing because of this?’ Well no. So, it’s a sort of whack-a-mole life, literally.“Cancer compromises (expletive) inside your body,” he continued. “You don’t die from cancer, you die from what cancer does to you. It does weird (expletive) and then you address it and move on.”As news of his latest interview spread, Campbell took to social media.“Cancer is all the rage, but I’ve said plenty and I need to get bac kto the business of living,” he wrote. Campbell first revealed his cancer diagnosis on Instagram in March.“His folks, these days, when someone is having a health issue, it’s referred to as an ‘opportunity,’ so let’s go with that,” he wrote. “I’m having one of those.
