Stacey Dooley lines up host of household names for celebrity version of hit sleepover series

STACEY DOOLEY has had some odd sleepovers in the name of TV, from a nine-year-old YouTuber gun expert to a benefits queen. But the documentary maker is reaching for the stars this time as I can reveal her next series will see her shack up with celebrities. Her hosts have included a teenage cagefighter, a Mormon family, a child model, some eco warriors, a family living with disabilities and a 70-year-old dominatrix. Filming of the celeb run is set to take place in September, with the cast to be revealed soon. Most read in TV This seventh series — created by BBC Studios — will be airing on UKTV’s U&W channel, Channel 4 and BBC iPlayer. It comes after the BBC axed a similar effort from Alison Hammond. Her BBC One show, Big Weekender, saw her stay over with celebrities including Perrie Edwards, Lenny Henry and Mel B. But Alison’s 2025 six-parter was given the chop earlier this year, after poor ratings. THE tables turn on Iain Stirling in the return of his comedy series Roast The Internet. He becomes the butt of the joke when funnyman pal Joel Dommett looks back at all his old posts and lets rip. But Love Island narrator Iain took it in good humour. “Joel doing stand-up comedy about every single thing I’ve ever posted on the internet and destroying my self-confidence and self-worth… haha!” laughed Iain. “Now, every time I post on the internet, I imagine Joel at home with his wife and kids doing a little skit about me.” Joining Iain on the Comedy Central show, on which guests reveal their biggest online gripes, are a host of big names, including Jonathan Ross. “I look up to that man, so it was really cool having him on the show,” said Iain. “Katherine Ryan was also great – perfect for this show.” Roast The Internet returns on September 7. Here’s a first look at the chat show host’s six-parter, Forever Home – a twisty thriller the man himself describes as a “dark romp”. Waterloo Road’s Denise Welch stars as Carol, who finds a body hidden in her basement – and starts to question whether her husband’s first wife really ran away, like he told her. Strictly star Lewis Cope also appears in the drama, alongside Downton Abbey’s Amy Nuttall, Heartstopper’s Jenny Walser, Shetland star Douglas Henshall and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’s Kevin Whately. Graham said: “In writing Forever Home, I was inspired by the idea of packing up a home later in life, and the ‘what if’ scenarios that come with later-life relationships. The novel soon evolved into a funny, twisted, dark romp full of farcical scenes. “It’s wonderful to see the depth of Carol’s story realised as a screenplay.” It’s not the first time that one of Graham’s novels has been turned into a series – his debut novel Holding inspired the ITV crime drama of the same name. Sounds like he’s in the good books with telly execs… ROB HAS NOTHING TO DO DAYTIME favourite Money For Nothing is back, with a familiar face helping turn trash into treasure. Expert carpenter Rob Bent joins the BBC One show as a new presenter. Viewers will recognise him from Stacey Solomon’s Sort Your Life Out and Alan Carr’s Interior Design Masters. With more than 20 years’ experience turning his hand to innovative storage solutions and full-scale home renovations, Rob is now ready to work his magic for the series. He joins SARAH MOORE and JACQUI JOSEPH as they rescue unwanted items from recycling centres and give them a new lease of life. Money For Nothing returns with its new series from August 31. SPECIAL ONE FOR 20 YEARS The One Show is celebrating 20 years on the air Credit: BBC THE One Show will welcome back former presenters Christine Lampard and Matt Baker as the BBC show celebrates 20 years on the air this week. Adrian Chiles will also be popping up in a special film. Alex Jones and Roman Kemp will front a week of special programmes, kicking off today at 7pm. Expect celebrity guests, reunions and stories that have captivated viewers over the last two decades. The celebrations will culminate with an hour-long anniversary special on Friday. Alex and Roman will be joined by regulars Angellica Bell, Clara Amfo, JB Gill, Lauren Laverne and Vernon Kay. Alex said: “I’m looking forward to reminiscing, reminding myself of brilliant moments and having some of the past presenters back with us.” A SWEET DEAL FOR DRAGONS A GEORDIE duo who call themselves “the Ant and Dec of the sweet world” are going on Dragons’ Den in a bid to expand their business. Sean Robinson and John Gray sell old-school treats such as gobstoppers at Mr Swainston’s Traditional Sweet Emporium in South Shields. But they need the Dragons to invest in their business to help it grow.The duo ask them for £50,000 in exchange for a ten per cent share of the business. TELLY hosts Paddy McGuinness and Zoe Ball are set to join Celebrity MasterChef as guest judges, alongside I’m A Celeb winner AngryGinge. The trio will join hosts Grace Dent and Giorgio Locatelli for the spin-off series, which returns to BBC One on August 18. HEATED Rivalry will return next spring with some new hunks. Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie will reprise their roles in Sky’s steamy hockey drama, with Jurassic World actor Justice Smith and Splitsville’s Charlie Gillespie joining the cast for series two.
