Sports memorabilia store 4th and Goal moves to Parma

(Courtesy of 4th and Goal)Courtesy of 4th and GoalBy John Benson, special to cleveland.comPARMA, Ohio -- After spending more than a decade at South Park Mall, sports memorabilia store 4th and Goal recently relocated to Parma.“After 11 years at the mall, our lease was up and we were kind of tired of that life,” said 4th and Goal co-owner Chanin Mares, who lives in Brooklyn with husband, Chris. “We just wanted to be independent. We were looking in Parma and this seemed to be a really great location, ready to move in. “It didn’t require any kind of construction or anything, so we opened June 1.” 4th and Goal is located at 5592 Ridge Road in Parma. (John Benson/cleveland.com)John Benson/cleveland.comA former office, the 2,700-square-foot space at 5592 Ridge Road in Parma is smaller than its former Strongsville store. “The place at the mall was bigger, but it was more of having a bigger back room,” she said. “So the show floor in Parma is about the same size.” The 4th and Goal show floor features authentic sports autographs and memorabilia. “We have everything from just a standard sports T-shirt to signed memorabilia,” she said. “We offer framing here. We have James Spence Authentication (JSA) come in four times a year. “We have a little bit of everything in here. We just started recently carrying Grunt Style T-shirts, which are more of a military-based, police-based company. They currently have an America 250th anniversary shirt out which is really nice.” Mares noted items in the store range in cost from affordable autographed photographs to more pricey framed jerseys.“There’s a wide array of prices,” she said. “If you want to buy a $20 birthday gift, you can. And if you have more to spend, you can do that also.” Being in the sports memorabilia business since 2003, 4th and Goal often brings in athletes for signing and meet-and-greet events. “We actually had Bernie Kosar for our grand opening,” she said. “He cut the ribbon at our ribbon-cutting ceremony. It was a fun day.”So far the response to 4th and Goal has been positive. “We’re excited to be here and be a part of the Polish Village,” she said. “We just look forward to seeing everybody.” Read more news from the Parma Sun Post here.
