Spire works of Assembly building in Amaravati to begin soon

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana reviewing the progress of Amaravati works at the CRDA office on Saturday. Construction of the spire (pointed roof) of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly building coming up in Amaravati is set to begin in a week, construction agencies have informed Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister P. Narayana.The announcement came on Saturday during a review meeting organised by Mr. Narayana at the CRDA office at Rayapudi to assess the progress of the capital construction works.Engineer-in-Chief Gopalakrishna Reddy, Chief Engineers and representatives of various construction agencies attended the meeting, a release said.The agencies told the Minister that commencement of spire works would enable them to accelerate the subsequent stages of construction of the Assembly building. Officials also briefed him about the progress of other iconic structures, including the General Administration Department (GAD) Tower and Heads of Departments (HoD) Towers.They said the steel diagrid works were progressing rapidly on five towers being constructed as part of the Amaravati’s iconic buildings and explained the progress achieved so far.Mr. Narayana directed the officials and construction agencies to accelerate the works and complete the iconic buildings within two years as per the planned schedule.
