‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Is X’s Latest Bootleg Leak, Gets Millions Of Views Before Taken Down

'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Courtesy of Sony Pictures As Tom Holland’s summer blockbusters take over the big screen, X has spoiled yet another one of the actor’s theatrical releases. Following the leak of a high-quality bootleg of The Odyssey on X last week, Spider-Man: Brand New Day was leaked Friday morning on the Elon Musk-owned social media platform, with the movie reaching millions of accounts before it was taken down later that day. Deadline has reached out to Sony for comment. Despite the brief leak, Friday marked a record-breaking opening day for the Sony/Marvel Studios sequel, projected for $167M-$173M, which bests Avengers: Endgame‘s $157.4M opening day in 2019. Watch on Deadline The latest leak comes after a high-quality bootleg of The Odyssey made its way to X last weekend, also garnering millions of views before Universal took action and “immediately initiated takedown protocols.” Since buying Twitter and rebranding it as X in 2022, Musk has allowed X Premium subscribers to share videos up to four hours long, making it possible for users to release entire pirated feature films.
