Spectrum COO Nick Jeffery Touts “The Great Cable Comeback” As He Assumes Charter Exec Post

Nick Jeffery, who started Tuesday as the chief operating officer of Charter Communications‘ Spectrum, touted the “Great Cable Comeback” in a Day 1 post on LinkedIn. The exec was previously CEO of Frontier Communications, which was acquired earlier this year by Verizon. He is now playing a key role at Spectrum, the consumer-facing brand for Charter’s pay-TV, broadband and wireless business. “What drew me here is the scale of opportunity in front of us: continuing Spectrum’s transformation with a sharper focus on customer experience, a more creative go-to-market approach, and operational excellence that shows up in how things actually work for people, every day,” Jeffery wrote. He concluded the brief post with a motivational appeal, writing, “Let’s get to work. As the No. 1 cable operator in the U.S., Charter has taken a unique approach to the fast-evolving TV marketplace by bundling many streaming services into select Spectrum tiers at no extra charge for customers. The company has shown signs of stemming the effects of cord-cutting, posting a rare gain in subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2025 and limiting its losses to just 21,000 subscribers in the second quarter of this year. After resolving a bruising carriage standoff with Disney in 2023, the company has been able to strike unique agreements with programmers using that agreement as a template. As of the second quarter, the company said $127 per month in added value has been provided to each of its customers through the integration of Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+ and many other streamers. As of June 30, Charter said it had 12.5 million pay-TV customers and 29.4 million internet customers.
