Kia’s realigning of the Sonet range last month saw the departure of the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in favour of a new trim level and more features. Boost gone A line-up now spanning derivatives, all models, therefore, produce 85kW/144Nm from the atmospheric 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, which can be linked either to a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. The latest tweaks have brought no major visual changes to the Sonet. Kia claims a combined fuel consumption of 6.6 L/100 km for the former and 6.2 L/100 km for the latter. Upping the ante further, the LX receives a front centre console and armrest, roof rails, cruise control and rear parking sensors. The recipient of a sunroof as part of the range reshuffle, the EX‘s additional items over the LX comprises: LED daytime running lights; folding electric mirrors; leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear lever; 10.25-inch instrument cluster; front parking sensors Depicted flagship SX is equipped as standard with the pair of 10.25-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system.
