BA is launching flights between London Heathrow Airport and Fuerteventura Airport in the Canary Islands from winter 2026. The return flight will then leave Fuerteventura at 12:30pm and arrive back at Heathrow at 4:50pm. Then the Sunday departure will take off at 10:05am from Heathrow and return from Fuerteventura at 3:40pm. Read more on travel inspo The route will replace British Airways‘ Euroflyer route which was planned between London Gatwick Airport and Fuerteventura. And it will be the first time the airline flies direct to the destination from Heathrow. Fuerteventura boasts more than 3,000 hours of sunshine every year and compared to the other popular Canary Islands spots such as Tenerife and Lanzarote, it is more affordable. In fact, Fuerteventura holiday packages can be between 30 per cent and 40 per cent cheaper during peak periods compared to higher-demand spots, like Tenerife. You’d also fly from Bournemouth Airport and at the hotel find a large swimming pool, a number of watersports activities on offer and the beach just 300 metres away. BOOK HERE Fuerteventura is the Canary Islands’ second largest island and when exploring you can head to a number of beaches including Sotavento Beach and Playa de Cofete. If with the family, there is also Acua Water Park, which boasts a number of waterslides as well as a wave pool and a lazy river.
