Spanish Cyclist Eduardo Sepúlveda wins Dhofar Classic

Salalah: Spanish cyclist Eduardo Sepúlveda won the Dhofar Classic cycling race, held as part of the sixth edition of the Salalah International Cycling Tour, organised by Dhofar Municipality in cooperation with the Oman Cycling Federation.The 98-kilometre race began at Al Haffa Souq, passed through Darbat Waterfalls and finished in Hajeef. Brazilian rider Nicolas Sessler finished second, while Colombian cyclist Edinson Alejandro took third place. The Li Ning Star team was named the best team in the race.The event featured 80 cyclists representing 16 regional and international teams and is aimed at attracting professional teams specialising in one-day races, adding greater competitive diversity to Oman’s cycling calendar.The race also seeks to promote Dhofar as a tourism destination through international media exposure, showcasing its natural attractions and the organisational capabilities of the Oman Cycling Federation.Saif bin Sabaa Al Rashidi, Chairman of the Oman Cycling Federation, presented the awards to the winners.The first stage of the Salalah International Cycling Tour will start on Sunday from Mughsayl to Mirbat Fort, covering 127 kilometres. The third stage will be the longest, covering 156 kilometres from Taqah Fort to the Samhan Mountain viewpoint. The fourth and final stage will cover 105 kilometres, from Ain Razat to the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah.
