A SOUTHWEST Airlines passenger has died after “suddenly” becoming unresponsive mid-air while flying to Los Angeles. Emergency crews were waiting on the ground when the Southwest jet touched down at Los Angeles International Airport. Paramedics immediately attempted to resuscitate Walmsey but were unable to revive him. Firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene. But exactly what caused the medical emergency remains a mystery. His cause of death has been deferred and the case remains open while officials investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. Authorities have not revealed what symptoms Walmsey experienced before becoming unresponsive. Southwest Airlines previously confirmed there had been a “medical incident involving a customer” aboard Flight 958.
