Southwest Launches 10 New Nonstop Routes From This Major City: Full List & Map

According to present scheduling data made available by Cirium, an aviation analytics company, the carrier has scheduled a grand total of 6,788 nonstop flights out of Las Vegas this month, making it its second-busiest airport by this metric. It is only beaten by Denver (DEN), with a total of 7,207. Southwest's presence in Las Vegas means that it is an easy city for it to grow in. Indeed, not only is it a worthwhile destination in its own right, but it also serves as a transit hub for Southwest Airlines passengers, with more than 20,000 changing from one Southwest flight to another in Vegas a day. The first of these commenced operations in May of 2026, with its destination being Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) in Alaska. The carrier will serve this corridor daily until September 14, with flights in both directions blocked to take more than five hours. Even more distant when it comes to Southwest Airlines' domestic additions from Las Vegas is Hilo International Airport (ITO) in Hawaii. It takes around six hours for the carrier's flights to traverse this route. They operate three times a week, and only started last month, on August 6. Hawaii County Mayor Kimo Alameda welcomed the new Southwest Airlines route, stating in a December 2025 press release: "Southwest’s renewed service shows its dedication. Its destination is Charles M Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS) near Santa Rosa, California, and the airline's first flights on this corridor took off back in April of 2026. Two of these are located in the northeast of the United States, while the other two can be found further to the south. The former pair are Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), located respectively in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Elsewhere, Southwest Airlines will also begin flying from Las Vegas to Miami International Airport (MIA) in Florida in March of 2027, as well as McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) in Knoxville, Tennessee. Knoxville is a relatively new destination for the carrier, whose first flight there (from Nashville) only operated in March. One of these is yet to commence operations: those wishing to fly to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) will have to wait until November 2026 to do so. Right now, frequencies are low, with no flights to Cancún in September 2026 and only one a week to San José del Cabo. However, things will pick up towards the end ot the year, peaking at five flights a week to Cancún in October and November, and daily flights to Cabo from October.
