Southwell races hit by big delay due to ‘technical issues’

But it did not get underway until 3pm after the broadcast truck en route to the Nottinghamshire track broke down. Darrell Williams, hosting on Sky Sports Racing, said: “So we’re building to our first race at Southwell but patience is required as we have had a bit of an issue. “The broadcast truck on its way to Southwell has broken down. “They are going to race but they are going to be racing a little later than expected. “The first race will now be off at 3pm as opposed to 2.30pm and they may attempt to make up the gap.” The feature race on the day is the Class 2 novice stakes over 7f for two-year-olds. Some 12 winners go to post for the £30,000 contest and it is recent King George-winning trainer Andrew Balding who saddles the favourite. But they were only good enough for second behind the fast-finishing and gambled-on 9-4 Flash Kozo.
