Southern Lebanon hit by new wave of Israeli attacks

Live Blog Update| War on Iran 29 August 2026 19:45 BST Israeli forces struck multiple locations in southern Lebanon on Saturday evening, hitting a social care home, residential buildings and open areas, Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported. A social care home for the elderly in the southern town of Hula was blown up by Israeli forces, NNA said. An Israeli drone fired a guided missile at an open area between Jarmaq and Kfar Reman, while artillery earlier shelled the outskirts of Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh. A separate large explosion was reported between Markaba and Rab el-Thalathine. Israeli artillery also shelled an area between Haddatha and Haris, and a drone fired a guided missile at a building on Nabih Berri Avenue in the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh. No injuries were reported.
