South Park features GTA 6 dog poo battle gameplay as new screenshots released

Jason isn’t above poo slinging (Rockstar) Actual GTA 6 gameplay has debuted in an episode of South Park, as Rockstar confirms a bunch of new details about the sequel. Rockstar’s marketing of GTA 6 has involved censored billboards, Netflix specials, and crossovers with the Miami Heat basketball team, but its latest stunt is a little more unexpected. New gameplay from the highly anticipated sequel made an appearance in the latest episode of South Park (renamed South America for season 29, as a jab at President Donald Trump’s insistence on trying to rename geographical landmarks). In the episode, titled Guinea Pig On A Stick, the gang visits a cattle ranch where they get an exclusive look at the game. They’re then shown a sequence of protagonist Jason picking up dog poo on a beach, and throwing it at people, to Cartman’s delight. Introducing the gameplay in the episode, an insider remarks: ‘Look at that, the graphics are seriously next level. You see the world building? ‘It’s a dog taking a poop. And people can pick up the dog poop. You can throw things at the person with dog poop, and if they choose to fight back, you can pick up the dog poop and actually attack them with the dog poop. That is what’s coming in November.’ Want GTA 6 news? It seems like you can actually throw dog poo in GTA 6 too. A credit to Rockstar is featured in the episode’s credits, so the footage is legit. Although it’s not the first time such a feature has appeared in a video game, with the appalling Duke Nukem Forever, from 2011, also offering the option. There’s an impressive level of detail to the bit as well. As noted by X account papaRPG_, the woman who explains the dog poo mechanics is voiced by Tish Hicks, who narrated the extended GTA 5 gameplay trailer from years ago. This isn’t the first time South Park has collided with Rockstar’s output. In season 22 episode, Time To Get Cereal, police detective Harrison Yates gets addicted to Red Dead Redemption 2, and is dismayed when his wife Maggie plays on his save file. South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are keen gamers and often feature surprisingly detailed references to gaming in the show. They’ve also been directly involved in some of the video game adaptations. Elsewhere, a bunch of new GTA 6 screenshots and details have appeared in Edge magazine. Rockstar claims that the game’s map is roughly the size of GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined, which is a pretty staggering prospect (they previously described it as double the size of GTA 5). It’s a massive world (Rockstar) Additionally, the article confirms there will be fully functional bus and train systems across Leonida (the game’s fictional spin on Florida). Police will be able to deploy K9 dog units, and you’ll be able to summon vehicles through the Scooter Bros app on your in-game phone. The most impressive part of GTA 6 seems to be the granular, reactive moments within the world. Characters will respond to the smell of certain locations with ‘varying degrees of disgust’ according to the article, while the weather system will reshape the world in various ways, from dripping buildings to islands sheltering stretches of water after storms, which changes how boats will move through bays and along shorelines. This granular detail is exactly what South Park is poking fun at, so Rockstar is clearly aware of how silly it all sounds when described out loud. However, we’ll have to see if it all translates to a compelling evolution for the series when GTA 6 arrives on November 19, 2026.
