The Philly hardcore group have a new song with Mannequin Pussy, “February Theory,” out nowSoul Glo, photo by Robb KlassenSoul Glo are gearing up to release their first album since 2022. Due out January 15 on Epitaph, Na I’m Gon Grab Allat follows 2022’s Diaspora Problems, and features contributions from MIKE, Bbymutha, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Eugene Robinson, and more. Today, they also shared a new song with Mannequin Pussy, “February Theory,” which comes with a music video directed by Robert Silverstein that features a bar fight over a hot dog, a rowdy church funeral, and at least one instance of literal can-kicking. Watch that below.Na I’m Gon Grab Allat was recorded entirely at the Philadelphia hardcore band’s hometown Foto Club with longtime collaborator Evan Bernard. In a press statement, vocalist Pierce Jordan dedicates the album to “everyone who has known the joy and pain of loving a man. All different types of love: platonic, romantic, familial, self.” (The larger track list indicates that the “pain” half of that equation is duly represented—four different songs are titled “Resentment.”)Since dropping Diaspora Problems, Soul Glo have been sparing with releasing new music. They co-headlined a tour with Zulu, played Coachella, became the first hardcore band to do an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, and shared a cover of System of a Down’s “Soil” in 2023. The next year, they released the song “If I Speak (Shut the Fuck Up)” in 2024. Next week, the band will head out on tour with Chat Pile; Prize Horse and Shallowater are also set to join the double header bill on select dates.Read about Diaspora Problems at No. 69 in The 100 Best Albums of the 2020s So Far.Soul Glo: Na I’m Gon Grab AllatNa I'm Gonna Grab Allat:01 February Theory ft.
