Sophie, who was still pregnant at the time of filming, broke down into tears as she explained: “I just wanted to be in his presence.” She explained she just prayed all the time that he would come back to her as her friends told her he had now. A teary Sophie explained: “But it’s not the same. He’s not the same. “He’s got scarring on his brain. The front part of his brain is scarred and his moods will be like really up and down. “And he’ll be really emotional and he’ll get quite forgetful and he’s obviously got like a limp now so he can’t really do much.” She added: “I don’t think we would have got through it without this little boy inside. I think that’s what kept him strong.” Meanwhile, Jordan explained to his mates that he was full of self-doubt as a person but that he had to remind himself that it was part of his recovery. He said: “I’m worried I’m not going to be strong enough for my boy.” Jordan was sent home from A&E wrongly diagnosed with a migraine and was later blue-lighted to hospital at death’s door with meningitis. Sophie stayed by his bedside in hospital and they would talk about their unborn child they call their “miracle baby” after a gruelling two-year IVF struggle to conceive. Jordan says this fuelled his fight for survival as he battled the top one per cent of worst cases of viral meningitis and encephalitis that his doctor had ever seen. At the time, the harrowing ordeal left Jordan unable to walk and forced to use a wheelchair, as well as “acute memory loss”. Jordan was discharged from hospital after a 22-day stay, but he is still recovering. Since filming, Sophie has given birth to their first child, a baby boy, they named Brody Jordan Daryll Brook.
