Sony’s PlayStation 5 might be lacking in exclusive games, but you can’t say the same when it comes to special DualSense controllers. Over the past few years, we’ve had controllers dedicated to God Of War, Death Stranding, Ghost of Yōtei, Marathon, Marvel’s Wolverine, 007 First Light, and many others. Beyond those, there have also been new colour variants like Techno Red and Remix Green. Sony isn’t slowing down when it comes to new PlayStation 5 console covers and controllers, and it’s taking a few cues from the transparent 25th anniversary Xbox Series X for its latest design, only without the lurid green colour. As announced on Wednesday (October 28), a new Prism collection of console covers and controllers is set to launch February 4, 2027. These are split between three variants: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Grey. The big selling point is the monochromatic, transparent look, which brings to mind the transparent Game Boy Color and Nintendo 64s from the 1990s, that pulled off the same trick. That seems to be the intention too, as outlined by Leo Cardoso from PlayStation’s colour, material, and finish design team. Want GTA 6 news? Pre-orders kick off on November 10, 2026 at 10am local time in the UK. This isn’t the only new DualSense controller on the horizon, with Rockstar’s GTA 6 also getting a special controller for the game’s launch on November 19, 2026.
