The ball had gone out of play near the home and away dugouts when it was alleged that he provoked a reaction from the Rovers dugout. Bruce then reacted by pushing Bristol coach Paul Raynor, who was also sent off for his role in the clash. Players from both teams rushed to the sideline to continue the brawl as tensions boiled over. The referee was able to quickly restore order on the side of the pitch and separate the mass of players. Rotherham assistant head coach Steve Agnew spoke after the match and claimed that Bruce was reacting to being kicked. We’ve all been there. They’re running the clock down. I fully understand what’s gone off. “Alex has tried to get the ball in, and their boy has kicked it out of his hands. “If somebody kicked you on the hand quite violently, what would you do?
