Son of Man Utd and England legend finally lands new club and admits ‘my career’s gone full circle’

TOM INCE has completed a free transfer to Tranmere Rovers. The veteran winger, son of former Manchester United and England star Paul Ince, has penned a two-year deal with the League Two side. Upon completing the move, Ince told Tranmere’s club media: “It’s a great feeling, bit full circle for me. I’m looking forward to it. “It’s always great when you come to a club like this. The good thing about it for me is that I have that hunger and that desire still. “I think that’s what’s allowed me to have the career that I’ve been able to have, the amount of games I’ve been able to play and the level I’ve been able to reach.” Former England youth international Ince began his career at Liverpool, another of his dad’s former clubs, and made one first team appearance for the Reds. Following a loan spell at Notts County he signed for Blackpool, going on to impress for the Tangerines and even playing for his dad during his final season. Ince scored 33 goals in 113 appearances for the Bloomfield Road club, and spent the second half of the 2013-14 campaign on loan at Premier League side Crystal Palace. He has since played almost all of his football in the Championship; representing Nottingham Forest, Derby County, Stoke City, Luton Town, Reading and Watford in the second tier. Ince did get one more crack at the Premier League, playing 33 times for Huddersfield during the 2017-18 campaign. He still played relatively regularly at Championship level last term – scoring four goals in 27 appearances for Watford – and could represent something of a coup for League Two Tranmere. Rovers boss Darrell Clarke said: “Tom is a player who brings real quality and experience to the group.
