Son, 52, charged with murder of his own mum, 72, after she was found stabbed to death

Joan was a lovely lady, I only knew her from Greggs mainly back in the days when I was a junior getting everyone’s orders in at the salon but she was always so friendly and chatty even when I saw her outside of work.” Another person added: “I worked with Joan when I was a Saturday Girl at three cooks in Swadlincote. “A lovely lady, nothing too much trouble and a great bubbly sense of humour. “Such a loss for her family and friends. Sending deepest condolences.” Officers were first called to the property in The Crest, Linton, following reports that a woman was found with stab wounds. Joan was sadly pronounced dead at the scene with specialist officers deployed to support the her family. Most read in The Sun Police launched a murder investigation, with a scene remaining at the house for a number of days while officers made house calls and reviewed CCTV. The force has now charged the pensioner’s son with her murder, who will be remanded in custody.
