Some Galaxy Watch Ultra bezels are falling off, and owners are stumped by the repair costs

Complaints about bezels randomly coming off aren’t new as similar issues were reported about a year ago. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra models are designed to withstand the elements better than most. But things don’t always go according to plan, as some owners of Samsung’s rugged smartwatch have recently found out.According to a Reddit user, the bezel and faceplate of their Galaxy Watch Ultra have fallen off the frame. The images shared by the user don’t show any visible signs of damage, except for the typical wear and tear of a smartwatch used daily. The exact Galaxy Watch Ultra variant affected here wasn’t specified, though Samsung apparently asked the user to take the wearable to uBreakiFix for repair.In another Reddit post, we’re seeing a similar complaint from another person, though the post and images (if any) appear to have been deleted. However, based on a comment in this thread, we can tell the user is referring to the first-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024).It also looks like Samsung support is recommending multiple remedies to impacted owners. Another person affected by a similar issue said they had to shell out just under $300 to get it fixed, despite being initially told it would be covered under warranty. In response, a user claims Samsung took a similar approach in their case.We also spotted a Facebook post from last month illustrating a similar issue with the first-gen Galaxy Watch Ultra. However, we haven’t seen an update from the user since saying Samsung was collecting their smartwatch for repairs.Looking through the archives, another Reddit thread from around a year ago describes seeing a raised bezel following two weeks of use. While the bezel isn’t fully off in this case, the available images suggest it’s slowly coming off.Most of these issues appear limited to the first-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra or its refreshed 2025 sibling, and we haven’t yet seen reports of the bezel or faceplate coming off on the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. We’re also seeing numerous Galaxy Watch Ultra owners in the comments say they’ve had no issues with the bezels or the faceplate of their smartwatches.It’s important to give Samsung the benefit of the doubt in this situation, at least until we know the extent of this problem.
