Love Island USA is over, and now we, the people, have turned our attention to Big Brother season 28. And you might have noticed that something is up with Jason De Puy’s (aka Salina EsTitties’s) tattoos. More specifically, they are covered up anytime he’s onscreen in a shirt that exposes his arms.Meanwhile, here’s Jason’s arm without makeup:So...what’s going on here? According to The Tab, licensing and copyright laws prevent CBS from showing tattoos without getting express permission from the tattoo artist. If they don’t seek permission, the tattoo needs to be covered up.Decider reports that tattoo copyright onscreen has been an issue since The Hangover: Part II, when Ed Helms’s character got Mike Tyson’s face tattooed and Warner Bros. was sued by the artist. Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter notes that since the lawsuit (which was settled), “the industry has become extremely strict about signing off on every tattoo that will appear onscreen, whether real or fake. For a production to give clearance, makeup artists and effects studios must come up with either original designs or imagery from the public domain. If an actor’s real tattoo is going to be shown, their personal tattoo artist has to give approval.”The more you know!
