Louisiana-Lafayette opens their season with a strong 38-7 victory over LamarLAFAYETTE, La. -- Darrell Smith accounted for two of Louisiana-Lafayette's five touchdown runs and the Ragin' Cajuns opened their season with a 38-7 victory over Lamar on Saturday night.Smith finished with 84 yards rushing on 10 carries. Lunch Winfield also added 84 yards rushing and a score, and was 15-of-21 passing for 189 yards but threw two interceptions. Anthony Reagan Jr. and Steven Blanco also had touchdown runs for the Ragin' Cajuns. Smith capped a 10-play drive with a 2-yard TD plunge in the first quarter and then broke loose on a 25-yard run early in the second to give Louisiana-Lafayette a 14-0 lead. Reagan added an 11-yard touchdown run and Winfield's 22-yard TD made it 28-0 at the break. Blanco's short-yardage TD run made it 35-0 near the end of the third.
