'Slippers, scooter outside firm': Woman found dead in office; family alleges murder

According to her family, she had not returned home on Saturday night, prompting her mother to search for her.GORAKHPUR: A 20-year-old woman worker was found hanging inside a finance company’s office in Easternpur Colony under Shahpur police station limits late Saturday, triggering protests by her family members and residents, who alleged that she had been murdered.On being alerted, police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem examination.According to her family, she had not returned home on Saturday night, prompting her mother to search for her.At around 10.42 pm, she reached the finance company’s office in Easternpur, where she found her daughter’s slippers and scooter parked outside. When she looked inside, she found her daughter hanging from a noose.The family alleged that the office manager was responsible for her death.On Sunday morning, family members and villagers gathered outside the office and staged a protest, demanding an impartial investigation and action against the accused.The family also pointed out that CCTV cameras inside the office were switched off.Circle officer Gorakhnath Ravi Kumar Singh said the cause of the woman's death was yet to be established. The circumstances would become clear after the postmortem report, he added.
