Ikea is now returning the favor by putting some of its furniture into an Xbox-owned game, and that game is Skyrim. Matt Berry Is Now A Living Ikea Bookcase In Skyrim Disney After teasing that Ikea furniture will start showing up in Skyrim, the crossover now has its own trailer to celebrate its arrival. The trailer focuses on the Skyrim x Ikea crossover star, Kallax Storageborn. Storageborn is a living bookshelf voiced by Matt Berry, best known as Laszlo from What We Do In The Shadows, but for gamers, he is the voice of Bane in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Not only can Storageborn be your companion, but, like any good bookshelf, you can use it to store things, playing on an age-old joke about how easy it is to become over-encumbered in Skyrim. The bookcase can awkwardly follow you around, although if you choose to dismiss it, all you need to do is yell “IKEA!” to summon it. No, I’m not kidding. Although the trailer for the crossover focuses solely on Storageborn, there’s a lot more Ikea in Skyrim starting today than just a sentient bookcase. Kinggath Creations, who helped create what is effectively an official Ikea-flavored mod for the Bethesda game, has even added new dungeons to the game (thanks, IGN), presumably ones that make it feel like you’re navigating your way through an Ikea store, which can often feel like tackling a real-life dungeon. Battle The Clutter Golem Wearing Your Meatball Helmet Ikea also brings a brand new boss to Skyrim called the Clutter Golem, potentially waiting for you at the end of one of those dungeons, and you’ll be able to wear a meatball helmet while you battle it. Yes, there is now a helmet modeled after an Ikea meatball in 2011’s Skyrim. Next time someone dares to claim video games are dead, just show them that. Meatballs aren’t just for wearing in Skyrim. The iconic Ikea treat is also an in-game food item, and rounding out what’s included in one of the strangest gaming crossovers I’ve ever written about (and I wrote a story about officially licensed Pokemon toilet roll a few months ago) is the Dwemer Allen Key that’s more weapon than utility tool in this capacity.
