Sivakarthikeyan promises only mass entertainers hereon, gives Seyon and SK27 updates

Actor Sivakarthikeyan appears to be entering a new phase in his career, and he wants his fans to know exactly what they can expect from his upcoming films. At a meeting with his fans and fan-club administrators in Chennai on Sunday, the actor said he plans to focus on full-fledged mass entertainers, while revealing fresh updates on Seyon and his next film, tentatively titled SK 27, with Parking director Ramkumar Balakrishnan.“Hereafter I will only do mass entertainers. Full entertainment,” Sivakarthikeyan told the gathering.The actor then spoke about his two films currently in production, making it clear that both are being designed with the expectations of his audience in mind. “Whatever you expect, both films will deliver that. This is not my promise. It comes from my two brothers, Sivakumar Murugesan (Seyon director) and Ramkumar's guarantee. They asked me to tell you guys. So, I'm telling you all,” he said.Sivakarthikeyan says Seyon is 60 per cent completeSivakarthikeyan revealed that around 60 per cent of Seyon has been completed. The actor said the team has already finished the songs and several other portions, with a few major action sequences still left to shoot. “60 per cent of Seyon has been completed. A few action block scenes are yet to be shot. We've completed songs and other scenes,” he said.Directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, Seyon is set against a rural backdrop and marks the director's second feature after Thaai Kizhavi. Sivakarthikeyan is joined by Raj B Shetty, Bhagyashri Borse, Seeman, Bala Saravanan, Arul Doss and Singampuli in the film. The film is backed by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. The actor had previously indicated that Seyon is expected to target a Pongal 2027 release. The film has already generated interest with its rugged first look, which presented Sivakarthikeyan in a distinctly rustic avatar. The visual, coupled with the tagline “Veeram undu Vetri undu”, signalled the film's mass-oriented approach.SK27 begins with an opening fightWhile Seyon is still being completed, Sivakarthikeyan has already moved on to his next project with Ramkumar Balakrishnan.The actor revealed that the first schedule of the film, currently referred to as SK27, has begun. And it has started with exactly the kind of material he promised his fans: an action sequence.“The first schedule of Ramkumar's film has begun. We have shot an opening fight sequence. We're shooting an opening song and I just came here after completing the shoot till 6 am,” Sivakarthikeyan said.SK27 marks Sivakarthikeyan's first collaboration with Ramkumar Balakrishnan, the filmmaker behind the critically acclaimed Parking. Sathya Jyothi Films is backing the project, while Kayadu Lohar has been announced as the female lead. The film officially went on floors in September.The project itself has gone through a change in director. SK27 was previously associated with Venkat Prabhu, before Ramkumar Balakrishnan took over. The latter's Parking had earned widespread acclaim, making his collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan an interesting shift for the actor.While details about SK27's story are still under wraps, Sivakarthikeyan's latest comments suggest that the film will have a strong commercial component.
