The event was jointly organized by the State Ministry of Information and China Media Group.In his message, read by Minister of State for Information Diaa Rashwan at the opening of the ceremony, al-Sisi warmly welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping to Egypt, describing him as a dear guest and a close friend of the Egyptian people. Sisi greeted the Egyptian and Chinese peoples on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. He said that he and President Xi have been working for more than 12 years to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Egypt and China, with their joint efforts helping elevate bilateral relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.He noted that the partnership has contributed to increased trade, investment, tourism flows and people-to-people exchanges, as well as scientific and cultural missions, particularly among Egyptian and Chinese youths. Sisi said that over seven decades, Egypt-China relations have developed into a model of partnership based on mutual respect, solidarity and shared interests. The two countries also promote cooperation among nations; uphold the principles of truth, justice and equality; and work toward comprehensive development and a just peace, he added. Welcoming Xi to his second home Egypt, Sisi expressed hope for a new phase of more advanced relations, with the two countries working together in a wider range of fields to achieve mutual benefit and greater prosperity and progress for their peoples, as well as development and peace for the world.
