Simple recalls MORE ‘contaminated’ make-up remover products over ‘microbiological risk’ that can damage eyes

SIMPLE has recalled more “contaminated” make-up remover products which have been identified as a “microbiological risk” that can cause “eye inflammation”. It has now expanded to include more batch codes of the 730ml Micellar Water and a number of 200ml and 400ml bottles too. A total of 16 batches have now been recalled. According to the company website, the specific batch codes are being recalled due to the “possible presence of bacteria”, which could cause “eye inflammation” for consumers. As a result, the products do not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 (the ‘Cosmetics Regulation’). The batch code number can be found on the bottom of the make-up remover bottle. Customers have been urged to stop using the product immediately and to contact the UK customer careline for Unilever, which is listed on the Simple website. No proof of purchase is required when applying for a refund, with Simple only requesting a photograph of the product showing the affected batch code. Simple has advised any consumers with concerns about their health to seek advice from a medical professional. A statement from Simple on the product recall page said: “We understand that product recalls can be concerning, and we are sorry for any concern or inconvenience this may have caused.” Comment now
