However, it appears the surgery didn’t fix all of Simon’s back issues, with the music mogul said to have had on/off struggles since. According to TMZ, he’s undergoing surgery on his back ‘soon’, which means he’ll need to sit out of ‘several weeks’ of filming for the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent. It remains unclear which famous face will take his place instead, The Sun has reached out to Simon’s representatives for comment. Simon has been a judge on America’s Got Talent since 2016, joining Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara, and Mel B on the panel. The news comes after Simon was dealt a ‘kick in the teeth’ when it comes to his show on home turf, Britain’s Got Talent. But she failed to mention the new gig to boss Simon or the team on BGT, meaning he was left blindsided over the move.
