However, after the conclusion of Silo season 3, it's safe to say this series will remain at the top of our must-watch list for a long time. Based on the novel series by Hugh Howey, Silo is one of the most innovative and ambitious post-apocalyptic TV shows airing today, and it's elevated by an ensemble cast who give their all to every installment of the series. Silo season 3's ending left fans shocked and more than ready for season 4 of the acclaimed sci-fi series, though there will be a wait as the final season of the series won't premiere until July 9, 2027. However, after the twists of the latest season and the tragic departures of some of the story's best characters, the next installment of Silo is going to have its work cut out for it. Losing Tim Robbins, who plays Bernard superbly in Silo, is a loss for next season. Fortunately, Apple TV knows that it would be a waste not to use Robbins and his considerable talents in another one of the streamer's groundbreaking science fiction series. The best Apple TV shows are the streaming service's sci-fi projects, and Robbins proved in Silo that he's more than capable of being a great genre actor. His reported guest role in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 3 will make up for his departure from Silo. Tim Robbins Is Joining Apple TV's Monarch Prequel After His Time On Silo Image courtesy of MovieStillsDb Tim Robbins played one of the best characters on Silo, Bernard Holland, through season 3, but unfortunately, his tenure on Apple TV's epic sci-fi saga has come to an end. It's a blow for Silo, as Bernard was a compelling villain and foil to Rebecca Ferguson's Juliette, who pushed back against Bernard's militant running of the Silo. As the seasons progressed and the secrets of the Silo were revealed, Bernard's true intentions were called into question, culminating in his death in season 3, episode 9, "Farewell." Bernard's death in Silo season 3 was a shocking twist, but it was always likely that his character would face a tragic end. However, the moments of redemption that Silo allows Bernard to have leading up to his death, and the fantastic performance by Robbins in his final appearance in the show, make it doubly disappointing that we won't see Bernard back on our screens. However, Robbins will be lending his talents to Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 3, and there's no doubt Robbins will bring the heat. The Monsterverse movies and TV shows have been making their mark on the sci-fi landscape for many years, as audiences will never get tired of watching Godzilla and Kong on our screens. However, when Monarch: Legacy of Monsters premiered in 2023, there was little like the prequel series streaming on Apple TV. It's a huge vote of confidence for the future of the show if actors like Robbins are leaving juggernauts like Silo and joining the cast of Monarch. The Cast Of Apple TV's Monsterverse Prequel Show Keeps Getting Better Not only will Robbins be featured in Monarch's season 3, but Giancarlo Esposito will play a guest role along with Millie Brady, Pilou Asbaek, Corey Stoll, Ralph Ineson, Nyasha Hatendi, Connie Nielsen, and Stana Katic (via Deadline). This expands the ensemble cast of Monarch season 1, which was led by Wyatt Russell and Kurt Russell as the younger and older versions of Lee Shaw, Anna Sawai as Cate Randa, and Mari Yamamoto as Keiko Miura. The time-bending show follows two timelines of the titular Monarch program's secrets and progress. Monarch season 2 saw some major changes for the prequel series, with Titan X fighting both Godzilla and Kong in the explosive season finale. The recent cast announcements for Monarch season 3 are heralding a new era for the Monsterverse show, as many of the storylines involving Lee, Cat, and Keiko were tightly wrapped up in the season 2 finale. However, if the track record of Apple TV sci-fi series proves anything, it's that such a star-studded cast wouldn't sign on to the next installment of Monarch if there weren't some epic battles and exciting new characters in store for us.
