It seems like Konami may keep its promise of a new Silent Hill every year Image: Konami Sign in to your Polygon.com account After a decade of dormancy, the Silent Hill series is back in a big way. Konami said in late 2025 that it wants to release a new Silent Hill game every year, an ambitious proposal that the publisher says it can pull off because it is already working on “many” unannounced projects. At least so far, the company has kept up its end of the bargain, with the Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall all coming out in the last three years. According to a report from MP1st, Konami intends to keep this impressive streak going by releasing Bloober Team's remake of the original Silent Hill in 2027. While development schedules are prone to change, it's quite possible the game will be out sometime next year. MP1st also revealed two voice actors who will star in the remake: Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew. Fritz is an English-German actor who previously appeared in games like Battlefield 2042 and The Tomorrow Children, and on TV shows such as FBI: International. As for Matthew, she appeared in Judy (2014), Suite 313, and Torchwood: The Story Continues. While MP1st hasn’t narrowed down who they’ll be playing, the original Silent Hill’s small cast narrows it down to Cybil Bennet, Lisa Garland, Dahlia Gillespie, Cheryl, or Alessa. Bloober Team's Silent Hill remake was first announced in 2025 Image: Konami Leaker Dusk Golem previously claimed that Bloober Team has been working on the Silent Hill remake since 2022, making a 2027 release even more plausible. Konami first announced the Silent Hill remake in June 2025 following the success of Bloober’s Silent Hill 2 remake. Beyond this, details on the game are sparse, although it seems possible that Bloober Team will once again take a comprehensive approach to the remake; the team’s Silent Hill 2 remake introduced some significant changes to its source material that, for better or worse, nearly doubled how long it took to get through the game. Bloober Team currently has a packed release schedule. The studio already has two survival horror games announced for 2027: Star Trek: Shadow Frontier and the Switch 2 exclusive Onyx: The Dark Grip, which, in a novel twist, can only be played in handheld mode. The studio is also working on DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn and Layers of Fear 3. Between the Silent Hill 2 remake and Cronos, Bloober Team has made a solid reputational comeback in recent years, after games like The Medium and 2023’s Layers of Fear left a sour taste. With Silent Hill and the recent release of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, Konami has marked its own unlikely return.
