Silent Hill boss says Konami planning more new games for years to come

| Games News Writer Published October 9, 2026 4:46pm Updated October 9, 2026 4:46pm Scarier than haggis (Konami) Konami has announced it’s already making moves on future Silent Hill games, as it tries to launch a new entry every year. While not the best of the recent crop of Silent Hill titles, Silent Hill: Townfall still continues what’s been an impressive comeback for the franchise. This hot streak started with 2024’s Silent Hill 2 remake and last year’s Silent Hill f. After Townfall, the next title lined-up is a remake of the 1999 original PlayStation game from developer Bloober Team, which is expected to launch next year, based on Konami’s current aim to launch a new entry annually. Konami hasn’t said anything specific about the future of the franchise beyond the next remake, but series producer Motoi Okamoto has confirmed some plans are already afoot. Speaking to Famitsu (via Game Observer), Okamoto reflected on all the titles that were announced during the Silent Hill Transmission in 2022, which have now all been released. ‘All three titles we initially announced were able to be released successfully, so we’re relieved (laughs),’ Okamoto said. ‘They’ve also received high praise, and we are satisfied with it.’ Want GTA 6 news? He added: ‘Successfully launching this ‘first wave’ comes with great relief, but we’re not stopping here; we must think of the second and third waves. We can’t share specific details, but we’re currently looking at a number of projects.’ It’s unclear what these projects could be, but based on the positive reception to Silent Hill f, we’d be surprised if developer NeoBards Entertainment doesn’t get offered another entry. Konami has been handling the series well by collaborating with various studios around the world, which has lent the ‘first wave’ of games a different flavour between their Japanese and Scottish settings – even if there’s a disappointing lack of Scottish people in the cast of Silent Hill: Townfall (or Germans in The Short Message). Regardless, hopefully this international variety will continue, as Silent Hill games set in Mexico, India, or Barry Island certainly sound appealing. Along with the next Silent Hill remake, Bloober Team is developing a horror title exclusively for the Switch 2, titled Onyx: The Dark Grip.
