Sign in to your TheGamer account Although we've known for some time that a remake of the original Silent Hill is in development from the team behind the widely praised Silent Hill 2 Remake, we still know painfully little about the upcoming release. While the development length has led to speculation that it could be releasing anytime now at this point, a new leak suggests we're closer than ever to revisiting the original horror classic that started the long-running franchise. While it's not an official confirmation or an exact date just yet, a recent report by MP1st, shared on their official X account, details some pretty major details about the Silent Hill 1 remake, including the claim that it will be 2027's next entry in the now-annual franchise. Silent Hill 1 Remake Is Nearly Ready For Release With the project supposedly under the codename "Project Noise," the source does note that the release date could still be subject to changes or delays given its ongoing production. In addition to the release date, the source also revealed two actors that will be starring in the project, those being Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew, although their exact roles haven't been disclosed just yet. Despite the reveals, there's still no word on who will be playing the lead of the game with Harry Mason as well, leaving the spot still open for speculation. The updates also come not long after the original Resident Evil had its code recompiled by fans, opening the door for more player-made creations and ports based on the original experience. A Long Time Coming For The Series While its story and visuals might not be nearly as iconic as its sequel, the original Silent Hill is still well deserving of a modern remake to bring it up to par with the rest of the series, especially with a studio like Blooper that has already proven themselves more than capable of handling the series so far. Given that there's still no word of what the next Silent Hill game will be after Townfall, we'll likely find out sometime around this year's Game Awards ceremony if the latest leak suggesting PlayStation's best horror franchise will be continuing its current comeback streak.
