A MAJOR supermarket will be giving customers a chance to save big on fruit and veg in a mega deal starting tomorrow across the UK. The offer is only available for a select few days so shoppers are encouraged to make the most of it while they can. From tomorrow, September 10, Sainsbury’s shoppers will be able to buy food shop staples like bananas, onions, celery carrots and spinach for a cheaper price. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! But the bargain is only available from Thursday until Sunday, September 13. The offer is available both in select stores and online for Nectar members. The savings are available across eight products which will likely help shave some pounds off the weekly shop. The products included in the deal are SO Organic Fairtrade Bananas (six pack), which drop to 95p from £1.90, and kiwi fruits at 90p for a pack of four. A 700g bag of SO Organic Carrots comes in at 67p instead of £1.35. A 200g pack of 100% British Young Spinach is £1 rather than £2, and British Celery falls to 70p from £1.40. Most read in Money Onions are also down to 82p for 750g, spring onions to 60p a bunch, and baby salad potatoes to 75p for 750g. In-store shoppers will need to scan their Nectar card at the checkout to take advantage while online customers will see discounts applied automatically, as long as their Nectar and Sainsbury’s accounts are already linked.
