Weeks later, while high on drugs and doing 95mph, Kenyon ploughed into a family car – killing Mia Rossiter, 12, and seriously injuring her mum, dad and little sister. Kenyon, who has never held a driving licence and was on bail wearing an ankle monitor at the time, has now pleaded guilty to culpable driving causing death. A judge branded Kenyon’s reckless driving as a game of “Russian Roulette”, telling Geelong County Court that “it was a matter of time before he killed”. “This family sitting here today could have been any other family,” he added. Kenyon was travelling on the Hamilton Highway in Stonehaven, 10km west of Geelong, on January 3, 2024, when he hit the Rossiter family’s car head-on. He had also breached his bail conditions numerous times in the run-up to the tragedy, despite wearing the ankle monitor. In other videos posted online, Kenyon can be seen showing off the bracelet while whinging about “how hard it is to make it in society”. Speaking outside court, Mia’s devastated mum Danica Rossiter described her daughter as “the light of my life”. “I don’t wish this on anyone. I don’t hate many people but there’s no words for the amount of hate I have for him,” she said. The court also heard Kenyon has a long history of dangerous driving. In 2019 he was jailed for six years after stealing a car and driving at speeds of up to 105mph in a police pursuit. Kenyon has pleaded guilty to culpable driving causing death, reckless conduct endangering life and two counts of negligently causing serious injury. He will be sentenced next Thursday and faces a maximum of 20 years behind bars. Comment now
