Police are still scouring the streets for the migrant, who appeared to have disappeared completely after landing. Normally paragliders need 80 to 100 hours of training to take to the skies solo. But cops said people smugglers have been charging migrants to make the risky air crossing with just a few minutes training. Local police union spokesman Diego Madraza said of the migrants: “They have no flight training, sometimes they are given a course lasting barely a few minutes before taking off. “Recently in Morocco, a gang that trained migrants in this type of entry using paragliders was dismantled. “As soon as one door closes on them, another opens, so now detection can no longer be only be sea or land, but it can also be aerial.” In July, the small Spanish city in North Africa saw more than 70,000 migrants storm a land border and swim in, leaving terrified locals cowering in their homes. Most returned to Morocco after the chaos but many remain missing in Ceuta. One migrant was arrested after breaking into a woman’s Ceuta home and climbing into her bed in just his underwear on Saturday. Beatriz Ferron, 62, started screaming after waking up to find the near-naked intruder lying next to her. The unnamed man was one of the tens of thousands who stormed into the Spanish enclave last month. He pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and was handed a 16-month prison sentence, immediately substituted for deportation and a five-year ban on entering Spain. It comes as cops are bracing for another mass assault on Ceuta by speedboat. Alicante-based tech company Golden Owl believes August 15 has been earmarked for the invasion. It discovered mafia-run social networks offering places on boat for around €14,000 (£12k). The company also warned that Monday is being considered as an alternative plan after the original date was leaked. Sources from Spain’s National Intelligence Centre also confirmed the information, according to local media. Golden Owl claims the new method will shift focus from swimming to the use of Zodiac boats. The inflatables are often used by drug runners because they are powered by engines and capable of travelling at high speed. The plan allegedly involves a “crowdfunding” offer stating: “Whoever has 15,000 dirhams (£12k) should come down to Fez. “I’ll sell my motorcycle, and we’ll pool the funds to buy a Zodiac and use it to enter Ceuta. That way, they won’t send us back.” Open recruitment on online forums is a deceptive tactic often used by criminal networks. Golden Owl has linked 25 Facebook groups to the social media campaign that allegedly led to thousands of people joining the rush to reach Ceuta last week. Spain’s Ministry of the Interior said it is prepared for a potential invasion.
