Emergency crews treated him at the scene on Avenida Oceanica before rushing him to Hospital Geral do Estado. He sustained serious injuries and is expected to undergo surgery. Cops have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall. The incident comes as a three-year-old boy died after plunging from the fourth-floor window at a hotel in Cyprus. The little boy plummeted 65ft from the luxury King Evelthon hotel in Paphos on July 12. He died after allegedly slipping from his dad’s arms and falling 33ft to the veranda below. The father was arrested and charged with causing death by a rash, reckless or dangerous act. The 37-year-old city executive filed an official request for dismissal with the Attorney General of Cyprus but this was denied. A number of local legal and police sources have said they feel the dad has been harshly treated in light of the tragedy. One well-placed source in the Cypriot police told The Sun: “There is a feeling that perhaps we over-zealously followed the letter of the law and didn’t show enough empathy towards the British family in their moment of grief.” Comment now
